Core of the Green Orchid

 In Flora

Following the last post, here is another close-up of a green orchid. It is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the silence, to get to know yourself within.

It is a blessing to be bestowed upon you this wonderful and intricate body. Despite the miraculous workings of the body, there are only four things we are concerned about in using it to experience the world. Sight, sound, smell and feelings. Having the eyes to see, the ears to hear, the nose to smell and the heart and skin to feel. It is everything we need to experience life on earth.

It is also tells us a lot about our interests. Almost everything we are interested in has to do with our senses. Loving music because of sound. Loving food because of smell. Enjoying adrenaline boosting activities because of feelings. People who love photography and art becomes visual artist because of sight.

The experiences can further be intensified with two or more combination of the senses. Put on your earphones, grab your camera and go out and experience the world. Let the music move you, smell the fresh air and see the world for what it is. Totally absorb and feel the connections with others that come into your moments.

All these is what I enjoy about photography…it changes the way you see the world.

Hi Darren. As usual, I am behind in my responses to special posts, but it is the case because I have taken time to enjoy all the gifts that our senses give to us. And so I add those days to your wise reminders and I’m feeling very happy in our beautiful world. I’ve never seen this orchid, but it’s quite amazing and bold. Your photo is of course, lovely. This orchid strikes me as being deceptive in its delicacy. I’m sure that it would require the same nurturing as any orchid, but it certainly speaks of strength:-) Best wishes, as always.
