Equestrian Statue of the King Vittorio Emanuele II

 In Ornamentation, Travelscapes

Love almost every sculpture that I come across in one of my most favorite cities in the world. This was taken at the Altare della Patria, a monument built in honor of Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy.

Although I love the lighting of a good sunrise or sunset anytime, my second most preferred lighting is actually that of an impending storm. I love the mood and contrast it creates. When I am photographing animals especially, I feel that the soft lighting from an overcast sky brings out the colors and details better.

I am not sure whether I am lucky or not while visiting Rome during a stormy season, but I definitely feel that it gives more characteristic and mood to this amazing city.
