Portrait of a Himalayan Griffon Vulture

 In Birds

This near-threatened species is a Himalayan griffon vulture. It is one of the two largest Old World vultures and perhaps the largest and heaviest bird found in the Himalayas. It is said that a large party of these vultures can strip a human carcass of all meat in 30 minutes.

That sounds scary.

But which is more scary, us the most destructive species on the planet or them? These guys just feed on carcasses. We are much more capable of destroying life on the planet than any bird can even fathom. The only difference is that we are also capable of much love.

Right this moment, the choices are at our fingertips.

Do we love or do we hate?

Do we care or do we disregard?
