Cityscapes | Twilight over the City of Perth

 In Cityscapes, Photography, Travelscapes

“My art is an attempt to reach beyond the surface appearance. I want to see growth in wood, time in stone, nature in a city, and I do not mean its parks but a deeper understanding that a city is nature too-the ground upon which it is built, the stone with which it is made.”

Andy Goldsworthy

A truly fantastic view, overlooking the city of Perth from high above Kings Park. If you have followed me for a while, you will notice that I love photographing different kind of subjects. When I first started out in photography, I was interested in many things but mostly I just captured what I thought was beautiful, and it seems that there were a lot of things that I thought are beautiful. It can be something like this cityscape here during the most beautiful light or down to something as small as a leaf. I realized later that what I captured more or less has a connecting theme to them and that theme is nature.

I feel that my photography reflects my inner world. Searching for a certain style or theme is like the never-ending quest of finding out who I am. All these self-reflection seemed to manifest itself through my images and changes as I understand myself more deeply. Sometimes I asked myself if there is any correlation between stones and buildings as compared to the fauna and floral of our world. It might seemed like the big difference is that one is an inanimate dead thing and the other has life, but if you can try to understand deeper, everything in our world is alive—in the same energy that made us what we are.
