TravelScapes | Marina Bay Sands Hotel Lounge

“In photography there is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality.”

Alfred Stieglitz

I have spent too much time in my studio recently so I took a stroll with my family to the city and realized how long it has been since I went to explore the Marina Bay area in Singapore. Sometimes we get so hung up on our work and so looking forward to travel to new destination that we forgotten about the little gems of places near us. The Marina Bay is one such place for me maybe because one of my favorite hangout, the Gardens by the Bay, is also in the vicinity. The two places are connected via an overhead bridge that can allow you to catch a scenic view of the city and the Gardens.

The light chaser in me always hope for a nice sunset or sunrise when I am out for a photowalk but due to current haze condition, the chance of a good sunset is pretty dim. This time though I hope to take some interior shots during the late evening and I have always wanted to see the interior of the MBS hotel during the night. This was taken at the bridge connection looking down at the lounge area of the hotel. I still remember that during my first visit here, I was blown away by the design and the space of the architecture. This area sometimes house musicians playing traditional chinese instruments and it can be pretty lovely when the music starts filling the air.

For those of my friends who have not been here before, hope that what I captured will allow you to share this beautiful space with me.
